EL PASO HIGH SCHOOL HONORS CLASS OF 2026 WITH STRONG ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT AND DISTINGUISHED GRADUATES
(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT – June 5, 2026) — On Friday, El Paso High School celebrated the graduation of 379 seniors in the Class of 2026, recognizing a group of students who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and commitment to success across a wide range of rigorous programs.
Principal Dr. Sandra Rocha said this year's graduating class reflected the school’s long-standing tradition of academic achievement and student pride at one of the most historic campuses in El Paso Independent School District.
“This class represents the best of El Paso High—students who have worked hard, supported one another, and taken full advantage of the opportunities available to them,” Rocha said.
The Class of 2026 valedictorian was Madeline Ihorn, and the salutatorian was Alexia Guevara.
Top graduating scholars in the Class of 2026 include Indira Johnson, Johaan Beltran, Andre Balderrama Luna, and John Ruhmann, all of whom rank in the top 2 percent of their class.
Additional graduates were recognized for graduation honors earned through participation in programs such as Military Science, Dual Credit coursework, the Mundos Unidos Magnet, Advanced Seal of Biliteracy, AP Capstone Diploma, and P-TECH pathways.
El Paso High School, known as “The Lady on the Hill,” is the oldest operating high school in El Paso Independent School District. Founded in 1927, the campus serves students from the West-Central area of the city.
The school has long been noted for its academic innovation, including offering some of the earliest music and Spanish language programs in Texas public schools.
El Paso High continues to serve generations of families from its feeder pattern, which includes Wiggs Middle School and elementary campuses Lamar and Mesita, maintaining a strong tradition of academic preparation and community pride.
